• Work On Swansea’s Marco Pierre White Restaurant Progressing Well

Plans for the new Marco Pierre White restaurant in Swansea are progressing well with the owners busy working behind the scenes in view of opening later in the year once the Covid-19 lockdown, that's gripped the country, has been lifted.

Located at J-Shed in the popular SA1 area of the city, the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill is replacing what was La Parrilla and occupies a prime position overlooking Swansea's waterside.

Creating in the region of 40 full and part-time jobs, it brings to life Pierre White's own philosophy of what he describes as 'affordable glamour' and includes signature steaks, and timeless English and French classics.

The new restaurant will include approximately 130 dedicated internal covers. The exciting plans offer a newly configured bar and lounge, as well as an external drinking and dining area wrapped around the entire property. A private dining area will also be available for hire, with an exclusive external terrace.

Leading the project are co-owners Dave Bellis and Steve Lewis who took on the lease of the property in the New Year.

David said of the on-going plans: "Despite the current situation, we're hugely excited about the opening of this fantastic new restaurant. With the news (rightly so) being dominated by the coronavirus pandemic, we hope it will give Swansea something else to look forward to once the social distancing rules are relaxed and we can once more look forward to socialising with friends and family.

"It's also really great news from an employment point of view, and we're on the lookout for those who think they've got what it takes to work in a venue that's been curated by arguably the UK's greatest ever chef."

Steve added: "We've been busy working on the plans for the menu and layout of the restaurant which we think will give Swansea a new, exciting option, in what we know to be an already thriving food and drink scene.

"The location is also perfect, being right in the heart of the SA1 area of the city, and completely captures Marco's ethos of creating a venue where friends and family can come to enjoy drinks and food in a relaxed, comfortable, and unpretentious setting.

"I'm absolutely convinced it will quickly become one of the 'go-to' venues for drinks, a meal, or both in Swansea and, in all honesty, we can't wait for us to be open."
