Marco Pierre White's new Plymouth restaurant is proving to be the city's hottest new weekend venue thanks to its in-house DJ and extensive cocktail menu.

The Steakhouse Bar & Grill, which opened last month, saw a 140% year on year increase in diners across April and has been pulling in the drinkers too thanks to its fantastic panoramic views across the Sound from the top of the Holiday Inn on Armada Way.

And with an in-house DJ playing every Friday and Saturday night from 9pm - as well as two cocktails for the price of one between 5pm and 7pm on Fridays - it is fast becoming Plymouth's premier weekend meeting place.

The new bar, which was completely gutted, re-fitted and redesigned, seats 68 and has giant windows allowing views across the Waterfront, Hoe and out to sea.

Offering Marco's mix of great food, simple and locally caught ingredients cooked to perfection and bar staff ready and waiting to mix up some of the city's best cocktails.
They include the Espresso Martini, the Burning Flame, a strawberry daiquiri and the White Lady, a mix of Bacardi, Cointreau, lemon juice and egg white.

For those just wanting a drink at the bar, the two for one cocktail offer begins on May 5 and has been described by Marco Pierre White as ideal for a couple of "cheeky ones" after work on Friday. "Everyone loves our food but the restaurant is also proving really popular with people wanting to meet up with friends before a night on the town.
"It's such an amazing, awe inspiring view and with its great atmosphere, a live DJ at the weekend and some really gorgeous cocktails it's a great place to relax and unwind."

Guests staying for dinner can choose from starters like crispy devilled whitebait, cream of cauliflower soup, warm baked Camembert and rillettes of duck.

What steakhouse would be complete without the chance to tuck into a 16oz T-bone, melt in the mouth 8oz fillet or chateaubriand for two.

Other delicious main courses include fish curry with buttered rice, an American-style cheeseburger and roast rump of lamb.

And to top it all off a dessert menu including favourites like New York baked cheesecake, knickerbocker glory and rice pudding with hot apricot compote.

More than six tons of crockery, cutlery and glasses were ordered for the new restaurant, which has created 24 new jobs in the city including chefs, managers and waiting staff.

Marco's latest Steakhouse Bar & Grill is part of the Holiday Inn's refurbishment and re-branding to a Crowne Plaza.
