Windsor Castle 

Windsor Castle has been the home of British Kings and Queen’s for nearly 1,000 years and is the largest and oldest inhabited castle in the world.  It is still a working royal palace. Windsor Castle is an official residence of Her Majesty the Queen whether it is one of her Private Weekends, her residence from March to April or whether it is for a week in June when she attends Royal Ascot.

The public will know when the Queen is in residence as the flag (for the United Kingdom) flies from the Round Tower of the castle.

Windsor Racecourse

Windsor Racecourse is located within the banks of the River Thames within 165 acres of breathtaking countryside.

The racecourse has Flat racing which takes place 27 times a year running from April –October including Monday Night Racing which always proves a great success. There is also a very friendly welcoming athmosphere with first-class hospitality making a visit to the race a must!

Ascot Racecourse

Ascot Racecourse was established in 1711, founded by Queen Anne the racecourse is used for thoroughbred racing. It is one of the most popular and well respected in the United Kingdom for hosting 9 of Britain’s 32 yearly Group One Horse Races.

Located just six miles from Windsor Castle the racecourse has close connections with the British Royal Family, one meeting of which the Queen attends each June which is ‘The Royal Meeting’ with its highlight being the ‘Gold Cup’. This really is every horse racing fan’s dream and truly worth a visit!

Theatre Royal
